Lilin Ding
Lilin Ding has over 20 years of professional teaching experience in music and spent her professional career with pianists of many ages and abilities. Her notable piano teaching career, wealth of experience and knowledge, make her piano and music flexible and dynamic which adapts to the students’ needs and learning goals. She develops goal-setting, task-completion & problem-solving skills in her music teaching, which guides many of her piano or music students attains with “Music Scholar” title and won numerous piano competitions.
She held the Bachelor of Music Degree in both Piano Performance & Pedagogy (Honour) from Oklahoma City University in USA. She was a piano faculty at Oklahoma University Music Academy, where she gained her first experience of piano teaching which gave her a valuable insight into the philosophy of piano teaching.
She had combination music career paths- a music director in music centres and a music educator in Children Association in Malaysia. Her broad musical experience & knowledge brought her to London to run her music school until 2009.
Alongside her piano and music teaching, she is a member of European Piano Teacher Association and Kiddy Keys. Currently she guides her music students to pursuit the highest level of performance or music exams through appropriate repertoire and mastery of musically technical skills at her residence.
Her coaching music experience impact her teaching philosophy. She said, “it is fun and enjoyable learning environment while developing the students’ music awareness.” She finds the process of searching solutions to music problems and making improvement to technical problems are very challenging, interesting, and satisfying. She added “it is important to help students integrating their growing musical knowledge to the art of piano performance and developing their appreciation and understanding of music.”
